The primary task of the IT department is to provide IT services to the entire Police Authority. The IT department is a crucial part of crime prevention and law enforcement efforts, and IT is one of the most important tools to streamline the police force and improve the quality of police work. The IT department develops and modernizes the police's IT, and the authority invests heavily in strengthening the department with new specialist skills and the latest technology for the benefit of citizens and employees in the police operations.
IT customer service provides technical support to users both within and outside the Police Authority and receives reports of computer, telephony, and radio problems around the clock. IT customer service is responsible for handling incidents and problem management related to IT systems, administration of access rights to the police's IT systems, and application support for most of the police's IT systems, as well as for the digital production of e-learning within the authority. Knowledge Managers also support the management of knowledge databases and routines.
We are looking for someone to join our Incident and Problem Management group, who can be part of our development in the IT department. The group is responsible for remedying and preventing incidents in the police's IT environment. We operate in an event-driven environment with many points of contact and dependencies.
Job Description
In this role, you will be responsible for continuously analyzing and identifying patterns in incidents. You will develop the problem picture and assess the need for how quickly preventive measures need to be in place for, for example:
- A more serious major incident
- Several recurring incidents of the same type
- Before an incident occurs
Your responsibility will be to drive the work together with various types of technicians and developers where you:
· Delegate tasks
· Follow up
· Set requirements
· Escalate
· Inform stakeholders
· Identify temporary workarounds
This role also involves further developing work methods and processes based on experience and environmental monitoring. You will work closely with the incident management process and ensure that the information flow between the incident and problem management processes runs efficiently.
On special occasions when regular Incident Managers are heavily burdened, you will step in and support in that role.
The work primarily takes place from the current workplace, especially during the initial period when you are new to the workplace.
Qualifications
This is an opportunity for you who have:
· Documented education in, for example, computer/system science or equivalent acquired experience that the employer deems relevant
· At least 1 year of relevant experience as a Problem Manager
· Work experience as an Incident Manager or other equivalent experience that the employer deems relevant for the position
· Good basic knowledge of IT
· Good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish
· Swedish citizenship
It is meritorious if you also have:
· Experience in leading and coordinating workgroups
· Completed ITIL 4 Foundation
· Experience in Service Desk or IT support
· Experience in assignment and/or project management
· Worked within a larger government authority or municipal operation, or another large complex organization that the employer deems relevant
· Ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in English
Personal Qualities
In the role of Problem Manager, you need to be analytical and have a good structure to be able to administer and coordinate the tasks you are responsible for. You need to have very good communication skills and the ability to adapt your language to the recipient. Since the role involves collaboration and cooperation with different people and various parts of the authority's operations, you are expected to be service-oriented and enjoy daily contacts.
We will place great emphasis on personal qualities.
